3-29-2020: A Note From Mandi…
March 29, 2020
Hello Friends! I truly miss each of you! Smiling faces, hugs, laughter, connections, accountability, love, etc.! I miss it!!!! I miss our praise time together! I miss singing and playing with such a great bunch of friends and worshipers! Jeff, Erin, Darrell, Kelly, Molly, Caleb, and Zac, you are a blessing to me and Bethel and I am thankful for the chance to make music for our Lord together!
Well, it’s been another week of quarantine. What has your week looked like? For us, it was learning that Brad’s down to 3 days a week of work because the company has lost so many orders due to the pandemic. It’s also been a week of school work for both the kids and myself. The weather was LOVELY for a few days so we spent time outside working and even built a fire and roasted brats and marshmallows. (Check out my Facebook to hear how Beau likes his marshmallows roasted) Through it all, we are hanging on to God’s grace and mercy!
This song helps me in times of pity! David Phelps is one of my absolute favorite singers every. If you aren’t familiar with him look him up!!!
I had to giggle at my devotion this morning. I have been reading “21 Ways to Thrive by 45” by Tiffany Bluhm on the YouVersion bible app. This morning’s devotional almost made me want to cry. It was titled “Gather”. The first paragraph reads, “Our love for the gospel beckons us to love and share life with others. As we do, we discover we thrive in a community, no matter our age or stage. The early church shared everything. They exchanged stories, meals, and honesty as they pursued life hidden in Christ. Like the early church, let’s gather in victory and despair. Sharing our triumphs and trials with one another.” Growing up, my parents door was revolving. We had prayer meetings, parties, nightly dinners with friends and family, and ANYONE was welcome(still is if you would like to visit them!). Let’s think a few weeks back, before the pandemic started, we had every opportunity to engage in gatherings, but, did we? We were too busy to be together and fellowship like our parents did. Now, we are in quarantine and MISS EVERYONE! All I want is to have a big party and invite every friend I have over and hug their necks, but that would mean we aren’t 6ft apart and social distancing. I know it’s important and I am not making light of the situation (sort of) but I sure miss you guys and would love to gather like Christ wants us to. Acts 2: 46 says, “Everyday they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” I Thess. 2: 8 says, “So we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel but our lives as well.” Our current situation makes us have to “gather” in different ways. I had a staff meeting on Zoom this week. An app that allowed 24 of us to gather online and see each other’s faces and talk to each other for about an hour. It was heavenly! Find ways to meet each other’s needs this week!
Well, it’s time to get off my pity party and start sharing about our worship this Sunday. Instead of videos for every song I am giving you the list of the songs I had picked out for Sunday. You can YouTube them or just sing them together!
We are in the Easter season right now. It’s easy to forget that! Christ died on the cross for us and right now it seems that is the last thing we thinking about. Matt 26:28 says, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” His blood is needed for our forgiveness. If it wasn’t for his sacrifice we would not have that free gift! His is deepest darkest hour, Luke 22:44 states, “And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.” Anguish…..for me and you! John 19:34, “Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.” Pierced His side….again for me and you! Christ took a blow because He loved us more than we can every imagine! We need to share that love of Christ to a lost and dying world!
May this song encourage us, myself included, that we need to share His love to all!
