April 5, 2020 – Yielding Your Rights

April 5, 2020

Today Pastor Ben Kingston shares a message with us to help us respond when God is silent.

Then Job answered and said, Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning. Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me. Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge. Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

Job 23:1-9 KJV
  • We need to be prepared for God’s silence
  • Quality of live lies in our quest for truth
  • Some of the greatest lessons in life are learned in the dark times of life.
  • Silence does not equal God’s absence
  • We must be patient with His patience.

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life. Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Phillipians 4:1-7 KJV

Prayer: Lord, I yield my rights, my expectations, and my fears. I promise to serve you no matter what.

When God has not answered your whys, He’s not saying the answer is not important. He’s saying that the answer is not available yet.

When you do not know what you do not know. You must rely on what is known. You trust God in the silence.

What do we know?

  1. God is sovereign!
  2. He loves you!
  3. He has a plan and he wants you to participate in it!
