New Ground

March 21, 2020

Dear Bethel,

We are very familiar with, and we as a people adhere to the verses in our sacred Bible that implore us to follow our appointed and elected leaders. That favorite verse, “obey the laws of the land” has directed us through the years, as it does now. We have been asked by these leaders for the next 15 days to avoid groups greater than 10 in an effort to slow the transmission of the Coronavirus.

Therefore, effective immediately, we are suspending all activities on the Bethel campus throughout the remainder of March. We will re-evaluate and update by April 1. This of course includes but is not limited to: Awana, Celebrate Recovery, Sunday School, Morning and Evening Worship, etc. This includes the postponement of the Men’s Renewal Retreat and this year’s Easter Walk.

This is not done out of fear,  but out of deference to our leaders, our more vulnerable brothers and sisters in Christ, and our community. As you know, other institutions in our community are following the same approach. During this closure, the building will be sanitized to ensure a safe beginning in April or as soon as it is appropriate. There is a list on the bulletin board of necessary duties. If you would like to aid in this effort, please sign your name to an item when you have completed it.

We will have a Sunday morning message available via: Facebook, website www.BethelLonedell.com, and email (more on that as it approaches). Let’s not forget why we are here; please worship at home with your family and look for every opportunity to share your faith to your sphere of influence. Though services are postponed for the interim, ministry is still happening. We have 3 ways that you can give your offering: You can drop it off at the office, mail it to 569 Bethel Church Road Lonedell, MO 63060, or you can avail yourself to the Giving tab on our website at www.BethelLonedell.com.

Now, if you know me, you know how hard it is for me to put that last section in without making sure that you know that we are absolutely praying for your situation in this difficult economic arena.

Your Staff, Deacons, Sunday School teachers, Awana leaders, CR leaders, etc. stand ready to help in any way we can during this new season. Please help us by checking on each other and bring any need to the forefront. If you are available to deliver groceries, prescriptions, or run errands for our most vulnerable members (or if you are in need), please contact Stacie (636) 358-1308 or Pastor Ben (636) 629-2526.
