Pathway to Strength and Wisdom to Stand in the Day of Adversity

April 26, 2020

Pastor Ben Kingston shares with us a message during our COVID-19 quarantine to encourage us to seek strength and wisdom.

Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief. Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate. He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person. The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

Proverbs 24:1-10

During the message Pastor Ben Kingston tells a story about a girl named Christy, but he doesn’t tell us what happened to Christy.

From Pastor Ben:

Sorry Bethel, I didn’t finish the story about Christy during the sermon.

She had severe injuries, several broken bones, and damaged organs. It was a long recovery, but she did recovery and as far as I know, has lived a productive life.

I love you, Bethel. Stay on the path to strength and wisdom by being content, pursuing righteousness, seeking God’s wisdom, daily applying it with wisdom and the facts and figures of knowledge, continuance of these disciplines and surrounding yourself with wise Godly friends.

May the Lord keep you in these paths to stand in the day of adversity.
